Some of the data resources available on the WWW via the Maps, Data and Government Information Centre (MADGIC) Unit at Queen's University are covered by license agreements that restrict their use. The following license agreement outlines these restrictions. Use the form provided below to register for use of these licensed resources.

Articles of Agreement governing the release and use of data files and documentation made available at Maps, Data and Government Information Centre (MADGIC) Unit, Queen's University from the following sources:

• DLI -- Data Liberation Initiative (Statistics Canada and other data files and electronic resources),
• ICPSR -- Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research
• OGDE -- Ontario Geospatial Data Exchang
• DMTI Spatial
• Other data and mapping resources licensed for restricted us

1. Read the license agreement.
2. Fill out the form -- all elements are required.
3. If you agree to follow the license agreement restrictions, click on the "Send Request" button.
4. If your registration is accepted, you will receive confirmation immediately on your browser; in addition you will receive email containing a userid and password. Do not share this password with anyone.
5. Once you have a userid and password, you can access the licensed resource.

I am a current student, faculty, or staff member of Queen's University, and I agree, in the case of electronic resources from any of the above listed sources, that:

1. I am prohibited from using these resources in the pursuit of any commercial or income-generating venture either privately, or under the auspices of my organization.
2. These resources are provided to me for the exclusive purposes of teaching, academic research and publishing, and/or planning of educational services while at Queen's University, and may not be used for any other purposes without the explicit written approval, in advance, of the respective distributing agency.
3. I shall not attempt to re-identify the records on the data files so as to relate the particulars to any individual person, business or organization.
4. I shall not distribute any data or portion of data obtained under this agreement through sale, donation, transfer, or exchange, as it is expressly prohibited.
5. Authors using data obtained through the DLI or ICPSR in research communications such as scholarly papers, journals and the like, are required to cite the respective agency as the source of these data, and to indicate that the results or views expressed are those of the author/authorized user.
6. A copy of any portion of these data may be retained by an authorized user for the period necessary to conduct the research or teaching, including their use as evidence of research methodologies and results, and subsequent research and analysis, except for any use outside the conditions mentioned in item 1.
